Models of good practice 1997-2013

With the support of the European Commission, DG Health and Consumer Protection, the ENWHP has carried out a number of important European initiatives from 1997 to 2013 which have established workplace health promotion (WHP) as a field of action for public health at European and national level.

Successful health promotion can only be achieved when the quality of the measures is guaranteed. Based on the Luxembourg Declaration, which for the first time presented a common understanding of workplace health promotion throughout Europe, the network has developed quality criteria for successful WHP. From 1997 to 2013 the network has documented corresponding European models of good practice in the public and the private sector and for different topics and organizations size.

These documented models of good practice provide decision makers in companies and other organisations with experience and knowledge on how workplace health promotion programmes can be successfully implemented to suit their national and structural requirements.

In this section we have classified all these MOGP in two different periods and type of project:

- From 1997 to 2002, successful individual projects for larger companies, small and medium-sized enterprises and organisations in the public administration sector are presented classified by country and type (size and ownership).

- From 2004 to 2013, models of good practice focussed on specific topics (ageing, Lifestyle, Mental Health and Return to work)
